Nasarawa State Head of Service Hail Drivers In MDA’s

The Nasarawa State Head of Service, Barrister Abigail Waya has underscored the critical roles of drivers in the public service.

She stated this at an orientation programme organised for drivers in the State Ministries, Departments and Agencies held at the conference Hall of the Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs Lafia on Thursday.

Declaring open the orientation programme, the State Head of Service, Barrister Abigail Waya appreciated the services rendered by drivers attached to Government offices.

She explained that drivers have played key roles towards the advancement of Public service and safety of their principals.

The State Head of Service however challenged the participants to always acquaint themselves with the new trends of driving with a view to improving the skills as well as ensure on the roads.

Barrister Abigail Waya used the occasion to caution the drivers against reckless driving to avoid accidents, adding that they are critical to the success of Government activities.

Delivering a lecture on the theme, “The Driver as a Safety Expert, Enhancing Efficiency and Emergency Preparation on the Nigerian Road”, Chief Route Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Andrew Daniel advised the participants to always observe and respect traffic rules and regulations for the safety of their principals and other road users.

The event had in attendance Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries for Local Government, Dr. Idris Umar Idris, Yerima Maris if the Civil Service Secretariat in the office of the Head of Service and Director of Finance and Account, office of the Head of Service where Dr. Idris Umar appreciated the State Head of Service Barrister Abigail Waya for organising the programme.

Saying it will go a long way to sharpen their driving knowledge.
