Nasarawa: Pilot Reporter Alleges Threat To Family Over Land Dispute

A group suspected to be assailants numbering over thirty threatened to attack Pilot Reporter’s Family, Augustine Kuza, over a land dispute in Kuduku community of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

A husband of the victim, Chief Augustine Kuza, explained that the assailants were reacting over land between Iwagu Ward and Kuduku community in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Chief Augustine Kuza, the Pilot Reporter, narrated that yesterday his wife, Judith Kuza, and her six children were on the farm when the assailants stormed the farm in commando style and sent them out of the farm warned them not to come back to the farm if the love their lives.

” We have been farming there for time in memorial, my father Kuza Adom, who died at 91 years in 2021, was farming on the farm, but now they want to have issues with us by giving it another name as an extension of Obosidoma land

“At the middle of last year, they brought Fulani herders to settle on the land in question as more are coming to settle in the land alleging with the concert of the Keana people.

” We reported the issue to the Divisional Police Office in Keana Local Government Area. When they visited the Fulani settlement area, they promised to leave the place, but to no avail.

“We discovered they Fulani men gave some money to a few people in Keana town to allow them to take over the land from us as they alleged that Kuduku community is a settler in the State.

Pilot gathered that the inhabitants of the Kuduku community are currently living in fear of an attack.

When contacted, the chairman of Keana Local Government Area Hon. Adamu Aboki, who promised to handle the situation said that he had already directed Local chiefs to look into the matter before his arrival from Abuja.

Also contacted was the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of Nasarawa State Command, SP Rahman Nansel, who said the command was not aware of the matter.

He, however, advised that the matter should be reported to the Keana Divisional Police Office.
