The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended three prominent members of the party in the state.

Those suspended are former minister of State FCT, Senator Solomon Ewuga, former minister of State for Justice, Barrister Musa Elayo and Hon Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, a former member of House of Representatives.

A statement signed by the state publicity secretary of the party, Muhammad Umar Bwala, said the trio was suspended for misconduct.

“The State Executive Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nasarawa State  has met today the 24th March, 2020 and taken far reaching decisions after joint session with members of State Elders Forum.

“ That owing to the role of some elders of this party sponsoring crisis within the party, engaging in act of gross misconduct, Sentator Solomon  Ewuga , Hon. Musa Elayo and Hon. Muhammed O.Onawo are hereby suspended from the party and also to face Standing Disciplinary Committee of the party,” Bwala said.

In his reaction, Solomon Ewuga, who said he has not gotten an official letter of suspension, said he has not done anything wrong that warrants his suspension from the party.

“The only thing I will say is, there are processes of suspending or, having any sentence on any body in the party. It is a breach of right to fair hearing and breach of somebody’s fundamental right which is unconstitutional.

“We are in democracy not in a dictatorship, so let everybody act according to his capacity and then we as ordinary people will make our choices,” he said.
