  • Advocates Automatic Ticket for House of Assembly Members 

Due to the constitution of the People’s Democratic Party that stipulates that Freshers into the party will spend not less than 24 months before vying for any elective position, Then politicians,  especially elective office holders are in dilemma if not the interference of the Nasarawa state executive and stakeholders of the party the fate of the new member hang in the balance.
The state chairman of the PDP, Yunana Iliya unveiled this at a stakeholders meeting held at the party secretariat on Friday, Iliya advice newcomers into the party fold having the ambition to contest for elective office to write to their wards, Local Government and state executive of the party for onward conveyance to the national secretariat of the party.
Yunana Iliya buttressed gave the fresher’s having the intention to contest to write on or before Monday next week of their intention to vie for elective office or risk their aspiration.
The chairman said the party in an effort to ensure a level playing ground for all PDP members  the party will accord them  waiver, Adding that the move was to create and ensure a soft landing for the party in the 2015 election.
The chairman in his address advocate for the allocation of automatic ticket for the present crop of members of the Nasarawa state under the PDP,He averred that the automatic ticket served as  reward for hardwork.
Yunana Iliya described the PDP lawmakers in the state has the best House of Assembly members out of the 36 states of the federation, The optimistic chairman affirmed that the party would reclaim her state come 2015.
The able chairman of the party in Nasarawa state called on all the 13 governorships to ensure a consensus candidate instead of going for a primary election, He described primary election as healthy for the sustenance of the party.
Also speaking, a governorship aspirant under umbrella of the Labour Party before he defected to the PDP, Nawani Aboki called on all party members to work towards the success of the party by burying their difference aside.
He also blames the Independent National Electoral Commission for the delay in the issuance of permanent voter’s card and the registration of new voter’s card to eligible voters in the state.
Aboki lament the displacement of communities in the state, He said the majority of the people in the crisis prone villages would be disenfranchised due to lack of voter’s card.
A woman politician advises the leadership of the party in the state to involved women as delegates ahead of the party primaries scheduled later in November, She decried the hijack of delegates by their male counterpart.
 The stakeholders at the end of the meeting resolved that Waiver should be accorded fresher’s having the ambition to contest in next year’s election.
 That all the members of the state Assembly be given automatic ticket
 That only party members that labour for the party be considered for appointment as minister and among others

 That woman which constitute majority of voters in the state should be selected as delegates.
