Nasarawa PDP Assembly Members Accept Al-Makura’s N14.160bn Second Bailout Request And Assessment

The Nasarawa state House of Assembly has accepted the assessment of N14.160bn to support state fiscal budget implementation; the eighteen members including the five (5) members of the People’s Democratic Party were at the forefront of cautioning the state government to focus on the payment of backlog and monthly wage bill of workers.

The Deputy speaker of the Assembly, Hon Godiya Akwashiki (PDP) representing Nasarawa Eggon West cautioned the governor to accord topmost priority to burning issues instead of deviating or embarking on projects not captured in 2016 appropriation, saying any attempt to deviate from the reasons will ignite rumpus between the executive and the legislative arm of government.

According to Akwashiki  ; “I hope his excellency will not include projects not captured in this year’s budget, there would be cacophony if the chief executive deviate from his responsibility, he warned the state governor to be aware of section eighty subsection (1) and (2) of the 1999 constitution as amended

“The question that needed answer now is what will the state government do with the money, other questions are, how will he do with the fund, these needed ardent attention, said Akwashiki.

Hon Muhammed Muluku representing Nasarawa Eggon East (PDP) opined that the state is broke, emphasizing on the need for the state governor to consider the settlement of workers salary before any other thing.

“The economy of the state will blossom only if workers salary is paid to the workforce, saying stomach infrastructure should be the cardinal objective of the current regime”.

Hon.Muhammed Alkali (PDP) representing Lafia East commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving lifeline to states of the federation, as he said the fund would come at the right time, adding that accessing the fund will ensure the completion of projects as well payment of salaries.

Peter Mbucho (PDP) representing Akwanga East, Hon.James Akoza (APC) representing Doma south constituency also support the assessment of the “Support State Fiscal Budget Implementation, “by the state.

The speaker, Ibrahim Balarabe in his remark applauded the members for accepting the governor’s request to access fund, he said the N14.160bn would ensure for efficient running of the state which he attested that needed lifeline.
