Nasarawa state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state for hiring over 33,000 thugs and gunmen to disrupt Saturday governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state, The state chairman of the party, Chief Yunana Iliya gave the hint at a press conference held today at the state secretariat of the party.
Iliya buttressed that the hired mercenaries were part of the ruling party’s plan to hijack electoral materials as well disrupt the exercise, calling on security operatives in the state to take a decisive action by tackling the gory situation for the interest of peace to reign  during and after elections.
“Over 50 polling units were not allow to vote in the recent exercise, appealing to the electoral umpire to make provision for the Internally Displaced Persons to exhibit their constitutional right by voting a candidate of their choice in Saturday gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections”.
The chairman of the opposition party listed some of the anomalies committed by the ruling APC and staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission to include flouting of rules and regulations of election, Adding that collation officers held a meeting with the current governor with an aim of rigging elections in favor of the APC.
He hinted that Inec staff also delay in the dispatch of electoral material, saying this are antics of the ruling party to rig election in favor of the party in power.
The PDP also appealed to Inec to redeployed the son to the elder brother to the governor who is working as a staff of Inec in the state to another state
Yunana Iliya buttressed that circulation of fake result sheets mar the exercise, Advising Inec to resist temptations of holding meetings with the state government whom he described as an interested party in the exercise.
He condemn in strong terms the use of smear campaign against the movers and shakers of the party by the ruling party, He debunked the grapevine widely spread that Solomon Ewuga has romanced the All Progressives Grand Alliance ,The party of the erstwhile minister of Information,Labaran Maku.
“neither Yusuf Agabi,our gubernatorial candidate nor Ewuga  have opted  or contemplate going into alliance or support any party rather than the PDP,we challenge the proponents  of this rumor to present  their facts to the public or bury their heads in shames,Said the state party chairman.
