The organized labour in Nasarawa state has called-off it strike action following the intervention of selected Elders Intervention Group. The chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress Abdullahi Adeka gave the hint during a press briefing in Lafia on Saturday.
He called on civil servants in the state to resume work with immediate effect, the organized labour commended workers for conducting themselves during the strike period, Adeka also applauded the state Government for her foresight for the roundtable talk.
The agreements signed include;
Government shall as always pay salary using the usual template
That the implementation of CONMESS as it is, is receiving attention by the state Government
That the head of service, organized labour and Intervention group be constituted to submit it report within two months.
That a committee on the 500 Housing Units consisting of members of organized labour be set up.
The organized labour should urge the state Government to constitute members of the state Civil Service Commission.
Labour also urged the state Government to liaise with Skye bank to submit the report of screening exercise.
The state Government should ensure the payment of full salary to Local Government workers; the state Government shall keep Local Government salary in case of shortage till next month is paid; Council chairmen should as matter of urgency suspend the proposed Council screening exercise; Approved the payment of salary by Local Government Education Authority while the disbursement would be made by Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board
That Government should process all promotions from January but without benefit due to economic crunch.
All increment from 2007 to date are waived.
Government should address omission of names of civil servants.
State Government should ascertain the numbers of pensioners in the state.
Implementation committee be set up at the point of agreement.
On the autonomy of tertiary institutions, Government should redirect them to do that on or before 31/01/2016.
Release of N20m for retirees amongst other treaties.
The head of service, Joseph Ancho lauded the organized labour and Nasarwa state civil servants for their patient during the strike action.
He assured that no worker in the state would be molested in one way or the other.
The chairman Elders Intervention Group, Ahmed Uthman (Sardannan keana) Commended the state Government for her understanding, He also hail the organized labour for the agreement reached.
