Nasarawa NUJ Debunks NBS Report Of Pulling Out Of Labour Strike, As State Media Workers Dissociate Themselves From Chairman’s Speech, Says “State Media Workers Are On Strike”

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Dogo Shammah has debunked the widely report from the state owned Nasarawa Broadcasting Services that the Nigeria Union of Journalists pulled out of the ongoing strike embarked by Organized Labour in the State.

The state chairman hinted this while addressing Journalists at the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre, Lafia

Comrade Shammah declined any knowledge of the statement as a fabricated press release from saboteurs saying the Union would take decisive measures on perpetrators of such act tantamount to causing division in the Union.

In a related development, the State media workers in Nasarawa state has dissociated themselves from the statement of the state chairman, Comrade Dogo Shammah claiming that Journalists in the state are not part of the ongoing strike.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the chairman of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service Chapel, Grace Amirikpa and Abari Isa and Ibrahim Dauda Chairman of Information Chapel and the secretary,Adamu Joel Elafiku respectively.

The affected Chapels averred that they are part and parcel of the ongoing labour strike.

“We like to inform the public that NUJ as a professional body in Nasarawa state is made up of four arms namely, State owned media, Private, Federal and Federated.
