Gov.Al-Makura performing lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia while strike persists in the state
The Nigeria Labour Congress, Nasarawa Chapter has slammed the State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura over the diversion of N3.9billion meant for the Settlement of backlog of allowances owed civil servants in the State.
NLC Nasarawa Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adeka during a press briefing slamed the state Government over the diversion of N3.9bn meant to settle backlog of allowances owned civil servants in the state, even as he described the ongoing strike as a total strike, as he called on workers to remain at home.
The state NLC also berated Governor Al-Makura for employing twenty civil servants through the back door, speaking on the on the size of workforce in the state, the organized labour confided that vacancy exist in the state.
“In ministry of Agriculture they have only thirty (30) workers, what do you expect from this Ministry, how many people died and how many went on retirement? He asked, saying the Union will resist any attempt to foist workers to retire from service.
Meanwhile, while the State is grounded in terms of government activities, this medium learnt that the Governor is in far away Saudi Arabia performing lesser Hajj.
