Nasarawa Judicial Staff Union To Begin Indefinite Strike From Monday Over Illegal Deduction of Salaries

The Joint Union of Judicial staff (JUSUN) in Nasarawa would tomorrow (Monday) 09/01/2017 embark on an indefinite strike over illegal deduction of their salaries.

The Joint Judicial unions that threatened to down tool comprises of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Magistrates Association of Nigeria (MAN) and Area Court Judges and Members Association of Nigeria (ACJUMAN) had agreed on that position during a meeting in Lafia.

Jimoh Musa,State Chairman of JUSUN while speaking to Newsmen after the meeting said all courts in the state would be shoot down on Monday if the government fail to stop the illegal deduction immediately.

The Joint union gave the state government an ultimatum to discontinue what he explained as illegal deduction of their salaries, the union threatened to remain on strike until further notice if refund of previous deducted were not settled.

He added that apart from the deduction, the government has to also pay the outstanding arrears of increment of their salaries from 2013 to date.

“From today to Monday January 9th 2017 if these demands are not meet all courts in Nasarawa State would be close down indefinitely,” Musa added.

He therefore urged members to remain calm, shun any rumor mongering and await further directive from the leadership of the union.
