Nasarawa Indebted To Over N40bn Gratuity To Retirees-Governor Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Alhaji. Sule has open the Pandora box by revealing that retirees in the State were owned over forty (40bn) billion as gratuity.

 

The Governor disclosed this during a media chat, marking the first one year anniversary of the fourth democratically elected Governor of the State.

 

Engr Sule explained that a whooping N40bn was inherited since the then Plateau State, He hinted that his administration would do the needful.

 

Speaking on payment of percentage payment to the third tier of Government, the Governor averred the third tier of Government is bankrupt.

 

He stated that the State Government has been augmenting salary since August, He added that the State was in total financial challenges.

 

He attested that the State is insolvent, when asked whether he has any intension to reverse downward 2020 budget, Governor Abdullahi Sule attributed the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic as a serious impediment to 2020 budget maintained that the State would reverse the budget with the unfolding.

 

“90 percent of the State depends on Federal grant”

 

The Governor thanked Journalists in the State for doing a marvelous work, urging Journalists to focus on promoting the State not him as the Governor of the State.

 

“Don’t promote me, promote the State, promoting the State is more important than promoting and individual.

 

He said positive reporting about the State would woo in more investors.

 

On the issues of Nasarawa Hotel, Abuja, Fertilizer Blending Plants and amongst other State owned Companies,The Governor affirmed that the current Government has lease Nasarawa Hotel , Abuja at the tune of N100m.

 

“I’m leasing some of the State Companies within the shortest time because of the time frame for Governance”.
