Nasarawa Government To Get Rid Of Unregistered Private Schools In Nasarawa State-Commissioner

The Nasarawa state commissioner of education, Honorable Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu has called on all unregistered private schools operating in the state to fulfill all procedure to operate or face closure.

The commissioner hinted this in an interview with selected Journalists in the state; he opined that the state government would sanction any private school proprietor that did not meet the requirement of the law for the establishment of schools.

He affirmed that the state government is ready to flush out unregistered private schools in the state as he confided that the days of illegal schools operating without license are numbered.

Tijjani lamented the proliferation of private schools, saying the ministry of education in the state would ensure that there should be total and strict adherence to the registration of private schools, stating further that the state government would accord prominence to supervision of private schools.

Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu said the ministry of education would constitute a task force that would go round schools to access facilities and teachers; in addition he averred that this would tackle the damning conditions of private schools.

Honorable Aliyu while reacting over media reports on the collapse of structures in secondary and primary schools maintained that the state government has embarked on a total renovation and expansion of schools cut across the three senatorial districts in the state.

“We have since commenced on the total overhauling of selected schools like Government Girls College, Wamba we are sinking borehole and ongoing renovation while Government College, Keffi and Nasarawa are passing through serious renovation”.

Calling on people of the state to remain calm saying government is doing it possible best to ensure that dividend of democracy reach every nook and cranny of the state, he however appealed to Journalists in the state to support the government of the day.
