Hon.Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani, the commissioner of education perturbed over the bad conditions of public schools has said huge amount of money was earmarked for the renovation of schools destroyed by rainstorm, thunderstorm or windstorm.
The commissioner said the concerted effort was to create an enabling atmosphere for learning in the state, he listed some of the schools that undergoes massive renovation to include Yelwa Primary school, Keffi, Government College, Nasarawa, Government College, Wamba among others.
On the acute shortage of teachers, Aliyu Tijjani said the state government has made announcement for the engagement of qualified and professional teachers to man the ugly situation in public schools.
Answering questions on absence of class register, dossiers and Continue Assessment, the commissioner averred that class register, dossiers and Continue Assessment booklet would be available.
But the state chairman of Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Gabriel Agbashi lamented absence of chalk in public schools, describing the current free education of governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as a gimmick.
