A high court sitting in Lafia has remanded a man for beating up a female doctor in Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia to coma.
Eyewitness confided that Dr. Huseina Musa was attacked by a son to a patient following the advice she gave to the son to clean up his ailing father who was on a sick bed.
A male doctor who pleaded anonymity said the attacker was shouting at the point of attack saying he will deal with the female doctor being a relative to the Chief Medical Director, Dr.Ikram
It was learnt that the attacker and his sister beat the female doctor to the state of coma and if not the swift intervention from onlookers the female doctor would have been killed.
This development foisted the Nigeria Medical Association to shutdown DASH, though the hospital has been reopened.
“The CMD Dr.Hassan Ikram when contacted denied having anything in common with the recalcitrant”
Saying the recalcitrant is from Lafia but not my relative”.
He further confided that the recalcitrant was remanded in Lafia prison till January 29th .
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr.Wisdom rejected all calls by our Correspondent to comment on the shutting down of the tertiary facility in the state.
