The thirteen local government of Nasarawa state needs the sum of N9 billion to pay backlog of salaries arrears it owns its workforce, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs have said.
Honorable Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu stated this while addressing Journalists at the end of Joint Account Committee (JAC) on Monday, the commissioner said N9bn is needed to settle backlog of salaries arrears as from October 2015 to date.
Tijjani averred that N1,377,996,515.68 was accrued to the local government as November allocation and to be share in December, he however maintained that a total of N1.5bn of the Paris/London club refund was to augment workers salary to effect the payment of 60% in December.
Saying N1.5bn of the Paris/London refund is earmarked for the execution of projects across local government’s councils of the state, While shedding more light on November allocation to be share in December.
Tijjani explained that 5% was deducted for traditional ruler,1% for staff training and amongst 1% deduction from the N1.3bn accrued from the Federation Account Allocation Committee.
