Nasarawa Correspondents Chapel Commends NSCDC For Protecting Public Facilities, Combating Crimes

The Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa state chapter has commended the Nasarawa state commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, Lawan Bashir Kano for combating the rising spate of crime and criminality to the barest minimum.

The chairman of the Chapel, Suleiman Abubakar disclosed this when members of the Chapel paid him a familiarization visit recently, the chairman lauded the NSCDC for fighting crime in the state, he said the fight on crime and criminality needs the holistic synergy of all and sundry.

“We will work jointly with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and other sister security agencies in the state”.

The Commandant, Lawan Bashir Kano appreciate the Chapel for the visit, describing the press as an integral part of the society, saying quarterly briefing by command would be sustain.

The commandant listed some of the key activities of NSCDC to include protection of national facilities, fighting crime and criminality, peace and conflict resolution and amongst others.

He warned on proprietors of Public Guard Companies to follow due process through registration of company and training of personnel, the commandant was speaking following the sealing of two Guard Company in the state.

Two out of the three company issues has been addressed while only one company’s is still been sealed for now and will be allow to operate if needed and due processes are followed.

He attributed the string of success recorded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense in the state to the wider publicity given to them, Lawan said.
