Nasarawa Community Flags Off 6.5km Road Construction

Community in Nasarawa State in a concerted effort boost socio-econonic activities has flaged-off the construction of 6.5Km road.

The chairman Eggon Cultural and Development Association Ezhiba chapter,David Boka affirmed that road construction would woo in Development, describing road as an essential artery for the development of every society.

David led other executive members to flagged off the construction of the road on Saturday in Akun said that the construction of the road would also boost agricultural activities.

He says the community is constructing Akwanga /Akpata/Ezhiba 6.5 kilometer road in order to boost the socio-economic activities of the area.

The chairman said that the road if constructed would reduce the hardship the people faced when plying the road as well as would also fight unemployment and poverty as well.

“As a community, we are united, focused and determined and both the sons and daughters are ready to contribute their quota to the development of the community in order to complement government efforts in improving on the standard of living of our people.

“The community had done its best in the provision of infrastructural facilities, the community had built a Primary Healthcare, primary school which had been already approved by the government and put into used for many years.

“The community had also embarked on electrification of its villages in order to boost the socio-economic activities of their people, all these projects was achieved due to positive contribution fromstakeholders, sons and daughters of the community.

“And today, a good son of the community decided to sponsor the construction of Akwanga /Akpata/ Ezhiba 6.5kilometer roads in order to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of this area,” he said.

Boka called on well spirited individuals of the community to emulatethe donour by contributing their quota to the development of the area and Nigeria at large.

Besides, he appealed to the state government to upgrade its Primary HealthCare clinic and built more classrooms in its primary school in the interest of development.

“The community is still having some infrastructural challenges such as lack of portable water. A situation where people are seen sharing drinking water source with domestic animals is regrettable, we appeal to the state government in that regard.

Also Speaking, Mr. Paul Angbre, the village head of the community called on the stakeholders of the community to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the area and the Nigeria at large.

He said that the construction of the road, apart from boosting agricultural activities, reduce the plight residents faced in transporting their goods to Akwanga markets, it would also reduce transport fares charged by Okada riders to the community among other benefits. the community and other neighbouring community traditional rulers, religious leaders, women, youths came out enmass to pray for the success of the road construction and for speedy development in the community.
