Nasarawa Commandant Of Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Bashir Lawan Dies At 57

The Nasarawa state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has described the demise of the State Commandant as an irreparable lost to Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corp in the state.

Confirming the dead in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, the Head of Department general administration, Deputy Commandant, Mr. Joseph Anunihu expressed shocked of the dead of their Commandant.

He said: “The command has lost a very obedience commandant and gallant officer, praying that may the Almighty Allah grant him internal life.

He described the late Commandant as a good man and very dedicated to his duty.Mr. Bashir Lawan-Kano is dead, age 57 years.

However, in a statement signed by the command Public Relation Officer, Mr. Aso Okereke and made available newsmen said NSCDC are mourning the untimely demise of its State Commandant, Mr Lawan Bashir Kano.

According to the statement, the command misses his sense of humour as he died at a time we need him most, adding that a condolence register has been opened at the State command headquarters in Lafia.

The statement further added that the remained would be committed to mother’s earth in Kano state as according to Muslim’s rites.

The deceased died at about 8.30am at the Dalhatu Specialist Hospital on Tuesday after a brief illness.

Late Bashir-Kano, who was a graduate of political science, graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985 was born on first January,1962.

Until his death he was a former senior lecturer with the Kano State

Polytechnic, before he transferred his service to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in 2005 as a deputy commandant.

The late commandant of the NSCDC, who  until his death served at various zonal commands as state commandant to include: zone F,Abeokuta, zone E Owerri and Ebonyi states before he was finally redeployed to Nasarawa State command in 2015.
