Nasarawa Assembly Speaker Task Members On True Forgiveness

The speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi has tasked members of the assembly on true forgiveness and to forget the past happening in order to move the assembly and the state forward for the overall development of the country.

He has also promised to carry every member along and urged them to work as a team in order to bring the much needed development to the state.

“And to day, I want to inform you that the six suspended members have resumed and have also tendered a written apology letter dully signed by all of them over their actions which led to their six month suspension,” he said.

The Speaker, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi announced this during the house plenary in Lafia while announcing the resumption of the  six suspended members of the house from their six months old suspension.

He said the lifting of the suspension would enable them perform their legislative duties for the development of their constituency and the state

Universal Reporters recalled that on April, 4, the G6 legislators Kassim Mohammed-Kassim (APC-Akwanga South), Murtala Sodangi(APC-Nasarawa Central),Mohammed Okpoku(APC-Udege/ Loko, Musa Ali (APC-Keffi East), Makpa Malla (APC-Wamba and Abubakar Kana (APC-Kokona West) were suspended over allegations of bribery and corruption leveled against the 18 lawmakers.

Balarabe-Abdullahi, the speaker said, “: If we will recall, on Oct.11, 2016, the house passed a resolution that the six suspended members should resume on Monday, Oct.18 based on their apology before the house when they appeared before the Adhoc investigation committee.

“And to day, I want to inform you that the six suspended members  have resumed and have also tendered a written apology letter dully signed by all of them over their actions which led to their six month suspension,” he said.

Three out of the six suspended members, namely Makpa Malla (APC-Wamba),Abubakar Kana (APC-Kokona West) and Mohammed-Kassim (APC-Akwanga South) tendered an oral apology before the house during the plenary.
