The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in 2019 governorship election was conspicuously missing in the executive chamber of the Assembly during the visit of the Deputy governor, Silas Agara.
The Deputy Speaker, Godiya Akwashiki was amongst the few members missing during the consultation of his arrival before the Assembly.
The State Deputy governor,Silas Agara commended the Members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for the cordial working relationship with the executive.
Describing the lawmakers as the closest people to the grassroots
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Ibrahim Balarabe in his address applauded the Deputy governor for his loyalty and hardworking.
The Speaker appreciated Silas Agara for the support is given to the Assembly and the Chief executive, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
Saying the current Deputy Governor if elected in 2019 will sustain the good legacies of Al-Makura.
“The Deputy Governor no doubt has his foot soldiers in the House of Assembly “.that is the position of the Assembly, he added.
“Our major concern as lawmakers was who will sustain the legacies of governor Al-Makura “.
The Deputy Governor, Silas Agara affirmed that is matured and qualify to step into the shoes of governor Al-Makura.
“I hold various positions under the first executive governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, extended family to Aliyu Akwe Doma and now governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura”.
Assuring the members that he would deliver the State even without handover note from his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.Also another member missing in the executive session was the present member representing Akwanga North, Hon. Peter Mbucho (PDP).
