- Is A Kangaroo Election-Chairman Liberation Team
Hon. Jibrin Mohammed ESQ, an embattled chairmanship contender in the just conducted election of new crop of executive of Area Court Judges and Members Association of Nigeria as a total disregard to court order.
Mohammed a contender under the umbrella of the liberation team in an interview shortly after the election of ACJAMAN which was held at Chief Magistrate Court 1, Lafia called on members of the liberation team not to recognize the persons elected on 31st March, 2018.
He averred that it was a kangaroo arrangement by some selected members of the Association.
In a letter reply by the Judicial Service Commission with a titled “Re:Gross Misconduct In The Affairs Of Area Court Judges And Members Association Of Nigeria and address to JSC dated 28th March,2018 with a number JSC/Off/54/Volume 1×××,signed by the Senior administrative officer,Ramatu Idris ESQ.
Also in a suit NO UAMA/CV/29/2018 holden in the Upper Area Court of Marraban Akunza,Nasarawa State of Nigeria before the presiding Judge, Adamu Bako ESQ (Sole Judge).
Hon.Jibrin Mohammed buttressed that the expertise motion was to restrain the Association from conducting it election slated for 31st March, 2018.
” Our predicament started when the incumbent chairman used his veto power to nominate his stooges as members of the electoral committee, his action compelled some of the Judges to walked out of the meeting which did not hold ”
“They are Kangaroo electoral committee reason been that they subjected members of the liberation team which is our team to humiliation while members of the restoration team have a soft landing” he added.
“We wrote to the Judicial Service Commission and in the their reply JSC directed that election should be suspended for the meantime”.
“It was not an election but rather a so-called selection by few ACJAMAN members “.
When asked whether an Upper Area Court has a role to play in a labour related matters, Jibrin ESQ says yes going by the provisions of section 5 (2) of the Area Court edit.

It is hereby ordered that the purported election of ACJAMAN which was schedule for 31st,March 2018 shall stopped pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
The chairman of the electoral committee, Ahmed Babangida while announcing the result attested that the election was free and fair.
The elected chairman, Hon Albert Maga declined comment after the announcement of the election.
