Ahead of October 6 2021 Local Government election in Nasarawa State, the screening committee has screened a total of 80 aspirants cut across the thirteen Local Governments of the State.
81 aspirants purchased nomination forms while 80 presented themselves to the screening committee headed by the Chairman, Honorable Philip Dada.
Doma Local Government has a total of 19 aspirants out of which one is a female aspirant, while 18 are male, the Chairman during an interview with selected Journalists said about 10 aspirants show up for the screening.
Other Local Governments with the second number of Chairmanship aspirants are Akwanga and Keffi having 8 aspirants each while Nasarawa Eggon and Lafia Local Governments have a total of 7 aspirants each, emerging third.
Karu Local Governments have 6 aspirants while Keana and Awe have 5 aspirants each and Nasarawa Local Government and Wamba have 4 aspirants.
Toto Local Government has a total of 5 aspirants but 4 were screened and one did not show up for the exercise and the Local Government with a consensus candidate is Obi Local Government.
Out of the 80 aspirants, two aspirants are female aspirants each from Doma and Nasarawa Eggon respectively.
The Chairman of the Committee, Philip Dada applauded all the aspirants for exhibiting maturity and good conduct during the exercise.
While some of the Chairmanship aspirants and the likes of Chairmanship aspirants from Nasarawa Eggon, Barrister Iliya ibn Aliyu,Sarki Ahmed Usman from Doma,Jawuna Envuladu from Nasarawa Eggon, Barrister Mohammed Haruna from Lafia Local Government, and a host of others appreciated the Committee during a transparent assignment.
