Barely twenty-two to the commencement of the 2023 general election, the Appeal court sitting in the nation’s capital has confirmed the incumbent member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Keana Constituency (APC) Hon Mohammed Danlami Omadefu as the substantive flag bearer of the seat.
The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe while handing over the flag to Omadefu, the present Chairman House committee on Information, Hon. Omadefu
Akabe averred that the stoppage of the handing over of the flag to the winner of the seat of Keana Constituency was due to court litigation.
“As a law-abiding political party, the stoppage is in tandem with our respect to rule of law”
Saying Hon. Muhammed Omadefu remains the flag bearer in this month’s election into the State Constituency.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon. John Mamman said added that the stoppage of the handing over of the flag was to maintain peace and decorum in the party.
“We are today handing flag to the winner of the seat following a fierce legal battle and the recent judgement delivered on 2/2/2023 at the appeal court.
Hon. Mohammed Atose, his rival who scores 16 votes against the winner Omadefu polled zero but was declared winner during the party primaries.
It would be recalled that Hon. Atose drag his political rival to the Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
