Ex-FCT Minister Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has portrayed the Vice President Namadi Sambo as a politician who has no name or  any political clout as far as Kaduna State politics is concerned.
Answering questions from newsmen, the former Minister who is preparing to contest for Kaduna State governorship race under the APC, said;  “the Vice President has not even won any elections in his polling unit. So forget about the VP,  it is about the people, it is not about big name, title, it is about people and the people of Kaduna state will not vote the PDP whether with the VP or not. “
Speaking El-Rufai said; “I don’t have any Godfather, the only God father I have is the God Almighty himself, I have never had Godfather in my political life, I have mentors that I respect. I respect Buhari the leader of our party, I work with General Obasanjo I have great respect for him, even General Obasanjo cannot tell me to do a wrong thing and I will do it,  I am not made like that.
“All those that care about Kaduna state should come together because the enemy is not APC, the enemy is the PDP so we should unite to reject the PDP and stop wasting our energy attacking one another. It is only helping the PDP and those that are doing it are PDP agents, and we know some of them.
“Uprooting the incumbent is not difficult because the PDP did not even win the last elections, it was rigged, the CPC won the last elections and we know what happened, we all know the efforts of militarizing the state to write results , we are going to resist that this time around. I have no doubt in my mind that the PDP in Kaduna state is gone. It is just a matter of time. In February 2015 we will prove that. A non performing government that have only made people poor, that have heightens level of insecurity cannot win election.
“We came along with my colleagues to formally inform the state Branch of the APC of my intension to contest for the Governorship of Kaduna State, we think that it is a necessary first step to inform the party officially that this is our intension before making any formal declaration. We also use the opportunity to congratulate the party leadership for their efforts in unifying the various factions and groupings that constituted the APC, the chairman and his team has done a great job in reconciling  all the warring factions and we thought it is important to encourage and ask them to do more.
“As part of the reconciliation process I have also offered to if I am needed if my presence will help and forge reconciliation and unite the party I will be happy to  be part of any such initiative.
“Also we came to present the party with some vehicles because the party has nothing or little in terms of operational materials, as you can see the party office is not yet furnished, we are going to work with other stakeholders to make sure that the party office is furnished.
“As we are going closer to the primaries there is the need for the party leadership to go round the state, to market the party and also enlighten the people to collect their permanent voter register and the continuous voter registration that will be announce by INEC soon.
“We thought that the party needed vehicles because since their elections, they have been using their personal vehicles that is why we gave them some vehicles as a first step and we hope to do more and we hope other aspirants will do even more, because among the aspirants I am about the poorest.
“I decided to run for the office after a long period of consultation and reflection because I am really angry at the state of Kaduna state, I think that my state has gone backward compared to our neighboring states, my state has unacceptable level of insecurity and with those in power appearing not to care, people get killed in this state in their hundreds and the seating government will not even go to console those that have lost loved ones. It is impunity of the highest order and it has made me very angry and many others and that is why we came together and try to run for this office”.
