The attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress to challenge the High Court sitting in Lafia seeking the court to quash its Judgement passed in favor of the six resident lawyers has taken a different dimension as the state chairman of the party, Philip Shekwor said the party would seek for out of court settlement.

Stating that the matter is a complicated case, The chairman gave the indication in an exclusive interview with Journalists, Shekwor averred that the party is on top of the situation.

It would be recalled that Nasarawa APC has filed in a motion seeking that the High Court sitting in Lafia which passed a judgement in favor of the six resident lawyers directing the APC to pay the jurist the remaining balance of N92.7m.

The defendants sought the for court to quash it’s Judgement passed in favor of the six resident lawyers who are demanding for the payment of N92.7m out of N100m being a fee for a contract between the ruling party and team of lawyers that work for the victory of the party at the Local Government Election Petition Tribunal.

The Nasarawa APC has identified the lack of improper service by the six resident lawyers as the reason that necessitated the High Court sitting in Lafia to quash its Judgement.

The team of jurist from Sheltu chambers are challenging the ruling party in the state for breach of contract by the APC, The secretary of the party, Aliyu Bello in a telephone conversation reiterated that the Judgement in favour of the lawyers stand null and void due to improper service to the defendants.

“APC filed a motion challenging the judgement which was in favour of the applicants”, But when asked of the representation of defence counsel led by the legal Adviser to the party, Bello opined that no agreement was reached between Sheltu chambers rather there was a contractual agreement between Ilegwu Ilegwu and Co the six resident lawyers.

“The contract was sealed between Illegwu Illegwu and Co and the Nasarawa state wing of the party which also involved the legal team, As of this moment nobody knows who the remaining lawyers are, said Aliyu Bello.
