N4 billion Loan Suit Against Governor Abubakar of Bauchi Adjourns To Feb. 8

Bauchi state High Court has adjourned the suit against Governor Mohammed Abubakar for allegedly collecting 4bn loan from the United Bank for Africa UBA to 8 February 2016 for ‎hearing.

It would be recalled that A citizen and a tax payer in Bauchi Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Darazo has dragged the Governor before Bauchi State High Court number Four in a suit number BA/258/15 that seek for the determination whether the Governor has the Power within the provisions of section 128 and 129 of the 1999 constitution as amended to source for collect and utilized the 4bn on behalf of the state government without the approval of the state House of Assembly.‎

‎The Presiding judge who is also the State Acting Chief Judge Justice Hamidu N Kunaza after listening to the duo counsel of the plaintiff and defendants had since adjourned the case to 8th February 2015 for hearing.

‎The Counsel to the complainants Nasiru Ibrahim Darazo, Barrister Sadiq U Sarki filed the suit number BA/258/15 yesterday seek for the determination whether the Governor has the Power within the provisions of section 128 and 129 of the 1999 constitution as amended to source for‎.

Counsel to the complainant, Barrister Sadig Umaru Sarki has told journalist shortly after the court session said, the counsel to the defendant had filed a notice of preliminary objection regarding the competency of the high court to hear the case against its client.

In this development, it becomes imperative to seek the court blessing to adjourn the case to 8th February, 2016.

In the same vein, Barrister Nura Ibrahim Zarudeen said, the matter come up in the court for the first mention and we took 8th February for preliminary objection file by the defendants for the court convenience.
