My Appointment As Minister Is Divine-Pauline Tallen

Tallen who rejected an ambassadorial offer during President Buhari’s first term, however ,said that having accepted to serve as Minister under his second term administration, she will use her new position to defend the course of women  for national development.

“I wasn’t expecting it (Ministerial position) but I am prepared to accept the will of God at any time.

“I never lobbied for anything. I believe and trust in God because God knows me more than I know myself and he knows what I can do to humanity. So I believe that my appointment to the Ministry of Women Affairs is divine and I believe that the same God who saw to my appointment will equip me with all I need to make a difference

“Since childhood, I fight for the course of women. In fact, I have been a tomboy in my childhood; I use to fight the boys in the classroom in my attempt to defend womanhood. So, I love women and I see them as agents of change, a tool that when you encourage them, you will get results.

The issue of violence against women will be look at. The issue of girl child education is also key to me because when you empower the girl child, you have empowered the nation. These and many more will be my priority   in the Ministry of Women Affairs as we work and relate with all the other ministries and stakeholders in our quest for nation building”

The Minister stressed that what Nigeria needed at this period were leaders who had the interest of the people at heart and were prepared to render services to them

She advised women with political ambition in 2023 not to waste time but to start work immediately as that was the only way they could win the confidence of the people
