One Hundred and Twenty four members of the Forum of former legislative arms of Plateau State House of Assembly from second republic to the current serving members have encouraged government to conduct elections into Local Government Councils of Plateau State.
Spokesman of the association and the interim Chairman, Hon Maimako Bello Kwanwatu disclosed this after the association’s meeting held in Jos.
It was alleged that the management committee chairmen couldn’t perform, so they demands for fresh conduct of elections into council election.
They appealed to Governor Simon Bako Lalong to put machinery on ground to encourage democracy at whatever level in the grassroots.
The forum said they discussed many issues of governance and the progress of Plateau State on how to bring people closer to the government and the new policy of change mantra of Lalong.
The members appreciated the governor for appointing some the members in keys position of authority by calling on those who scale through to see their appointment as call to service to humanity, he added.
Hon Kwanwatu expressed satisfaction with the current administration of the Governor for giving emphasizes to rural and community development.
He lauded the government in the area of revamping Jos main market, Jos international Brewery, JIB, Pandam games reserve, Bokkos fertilizer blinding company and Highland bottling company which can boost the economy best of the state.
According to him, this gesture will create employment opportunity to the teeming youth who are roaming the streets in search of white collar jobs.
He explained further that the present regime is now operating an all-inclusive government which had carried everyone on board.
“We all believe the governor is trying his very best especially on the area of salary payments and we also commended Lalong government on working hard to improve the wellbeing of citizens”, he added.
Kwanwatu described as wonderful achievement so far recorded for some of them who have work very close with Governor Simon Lalong in the house of Assembly ,adding he has a large heart he is doing his very best to reposition the state .
“we are calling on the good people of Plateau people to support the administration of Lalong for the better days ahead which we hope that there is better days ahead”, he explained.
The former members of Plateau state House of Assembly have supported the new ranching policy federal which had national benefit to the citizens of Nigeria.
