How Murderous Terror Group In Plateau Has Been Killing Our People, Fulani Leaders In Plateau Cry Out

• Says There is An Execution Plan That Has Led To Tactical Attacks and Killing of Their People In Plateau

The Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders  Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) plateau state chapter, Muhammad Nuru has raised alarm over the killings of their members in Plateau state.

The state branch office in a press statement made available to the media stated that there is an execution of a plan that has led to tactical attacks and killings of herdsmen in the state.

Their statement said, “It is by some disgruntled elements and terrorist group that don’t want this peace and unity to be enjoyed and that the might benefit from the conflict”.

According to him, at least ten (10) innocent Fulani herdsmen were secretly attacked and killed in different areas of the state in October 2017. On Wednesday 4th, October 2017 Salihu Bello and Mairo Halilu who were passersby from Tanti and Quanpan were attacked and mercilessly killed in Dorowa village of Barkin Ladi LGA by Berom hoodlums.

The statement alleged that the Berom mobs illegally blocked Barkin Ladi—Mangu highway and conducted a stop and search for Fulani people and up till now no arrest was made.

Secondly, on 15th October 2017 six (6) innocent Fulani herdsmen were killed and beheaded in Bassa LGA by Irigwe killers, these defenseless children were killed in cool blood and no arrest of the culprits or either an attempt to investigate into the matter by security agencies has been done.

Nuru lamented that on 22nd Oct 2017 the unfortunate experience was recorded in the Riyom district where Dari Abubakar was attacked and killed by Berom hoodlums of Dyal village in Riyom LGA.

The missing Dari was neither recovered nor his belongings is an Investigation into the matter ongoing.

Also, he added that on Sunday 29th October 2017, some alleged Tarok criminals armed with sophisticated weapons attacked Fulani Rice farmers and Rearers, while harvesting, they were shooting sporadically towards the harvesters and killed one Musa Sarkin Tenam on the spot.

The brutal killing of the herdsmen have not stopped, despite that  our leaders have been preaching harmony, as he added that on the  3rd November 2017 in Mangu LGA Alhaji Adamu Abdulmumini an aged man of over seventy (70) years old, was attacked and machete to death in Changal village of Pushet district of the LGA without any justification.

The already arrested culprits were immediately released without any explanation why they were immediately discharged?

We call on Government and security agencies, whose primary responsibility is the protection of our integrity as well as the lives, properties, freedoms, and liberty of all Nigerians to ensure that justice is done.

We have continued to witness how scores of innocent citizens, going about their normal businesses, were helplessly hacked to death by militias, with no arrest and as there has been complete silence on the whereabouts of this murderous terror groups.

All federal and state government institutions whose cardinal responsibility is to ensure the protection of lives and property as well as ensure that citizens’ rights to life are adequately guaranteed and protected seem to have been overwhelmed by the activities of the terror group in Plateau State as they run unchecked, causing havoc, destruction of Lives and property as well as threatening the fragile and relative peace in the State.

The unprovoked attacks on the herdsmen across the State are a clear indication that no part of Plateau State is safe and free of the attacks. It is, therefore, on account of the unabated killings that we are calling on the Government and security agencies to take an immediate action to curb the attacks as well put all measures on the ground to ensure the arrest of the killers and their subsequent prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.
