MultiChoice Nigeria has introduced a support package aimed at easing the financial burden on DStv and GOtv subscribers following the recent tariff adjustments.
The pay-TV service provider, in a message to subscribers on Monday, announced that new tariffs would take effect from March 1, 2024.
To mitigate the impact of the price hike, the pay TV service provider said that customers who renewed their subscriptions before expiry would continue paying the old rates for a specified period as a reward for their loyalty.
Additionally, it sa8d subscribers could benefit from the ongoing Step Up offer, allowing active and disconnected DStv and GOtv users to automatically upgrade to a higher package when they renew on a package above their current subscription.
I5 said this offer, which began in January, would run until March 31.
As part of its relief measure, MultiChoice has also announced an upcoming subscription price reduction for Showmax, its streaming platform.
“This will be disclosed on February 28 and is expected to make access to live sports, movies, and general entertainment more affordable,” it stated.

The new pricing structure for DStv and GOtv is as follows:
DStv Compact: N19,000
DStv Compact Plus: N30,000
DStv Premium: N44,500
GOtv Supa: N16,800
GOtv Supa+ (New package): N11,400
GOtv Max: N8,500
