Ministerial List Set Ex-Gov Oshiomhole, Presidency On War Path As His Candidates Fail To Make List

The battle lines seems to be drawn between the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Presidency over the recent list of nominees for ministerial positions recently released by the Presidency.

According to the list released by the Presidency, erstwhile Minister of State for Health Dr Ehanire Osagie was retained while former commissioner under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Hon. Clement Agba made the list. However the National Chairman of the APC Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was however displeased over the list as his preferred nominees, Rt. Hon Patrick Obahiagbon and Rt. Hon Samson Osagie failed to make the list.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was said to have picked Hon. Obahiagbon for the post of minister as a compensation for his loss at the Senatorial elections held earlier this year, as he had earlier hoped he would win the Senate Seat and be his eye in Edo south and curtail any political threat posed by the current governor, Governor Godwin Obaseki who is at loggerheads with Oshiomhole, while Samson Osagie was also picked to compensate the Odubu camp.

According to sources close to Oshiomhole, immediately he got wind of the obvious omission of his preferred men, Comrade Oshiomhole made a last gap effort at lobbying his men into the list and visited the Aso Rock Villa to meet the President and the National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu but met a brick wall as he was barred from entering the Villa based on the orders of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

This further infuriated the National Chairman as he vowed to fight back and frustrate all efforts made by the Presidency to undermine him in the scheme of things.

The reason for the omission of the nominees of the National Chairman of the APC are unknown but it might be occasioned by the cold war between Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and sources close to the Presidency revealed that the Presidency may have decided to omit the preferred nominees of the National chairman so as not to send the impression of taking sides with any of the warring parties.

The source went further to state that President Muhammadu Buhari want a speedy resolution to the leadership imbroglio in Edo State and has decided to be cautious in his actions regarding the issues that concerns the State and prefers to remain as an arbiter rather than an interested party in the leadership crisis in the state.

As at press time, no one knows the next line of action by Oshiomhole as according to Presidency sources disclosed that he left the Villa frustrated groaning.
