Mining Office Opens Zonal Offices As DG Tasks Staff On Hardwork

The Director General, Mining Cadastre Office MCO, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom has encouraged officers to stay motivated and be diligent in their dealings.

 

Speaking at the induction training organised for the zonal staff from 2nd to 3rd July, 2020 at the Agency’s Conference Room, Engr. Nkom stated that only the best is expected of them, adding that as pioneer staff for the zonal offices, they are being posted out as ambassadors of the Agency.

 

A statement signed by the MCO Head of Press, Folasade Fatoke quoted the DG as charging the staff further: “You go as ambassadors and we are not expecting anything less than a good behaviour, so don’t be deceived people are watching you”.

 

 

He further shared experiences with them, saying that rules should never be broken. He said, “You must adhere strictly to the provisions of the Act governing the establishment of the Agency as this will enable you to leverage on government’s programmes towards the diversification of the mineral sector”.

 

The Director, Registry of MCO, Dr. Sidikat Salau, who gave the overview of the Cadastre Office at the training, implored officers to always be punctual and be diligent.

 

The participants were taken through the roles and service delivery expectations of the various departments and Units of the Agency by Directors and Representatives from the departments and Legal Unit. The DG particularly stressed the importance of the Agency’s system migration to online, which he stated will promote the application for Mineral Title and overall boost the economy.

 

 

The 2-day training ended with the posting of Officers to head the Zonal Offices, they are as follows;

  1. North East (Maiduguri) Mr. Lamechi Yilah Ngale

  1. South East (Enugu) Mrs. Anita Nweke
  2. South West (Ibadan) Mr. Kayode Micheal Samuel
