Mass Spread Of Coronavirus Hit Communities In Gombe

There are strong indications that communities within Gombe and environs are witnessing a mass spread of Coronavirus according to reports.

The report also showed that since the inception of the virus in Gombe which 5 persons were tested positive, there has been an increase in the virus in most communities.

According to daily statistics of COVD-19 issued by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on the 14th of June, it clearly stated that the rise of the spread of the Coronavirus in Gombe as the state recorded 73 active cases being ahead Lagos state.

Chairman of tasks force committee on COVID-19 in Gombe state Prof. Idris Mohammed while briefing Journalists on Monday said no fewer than 3,668 persons so far have been tested for the virus within the stipulated time of 2 weeks.

According to him, within 2 weeks, out of the number tested for COVID-19 in the state 250 results returned positive.

While encouraging the public to avail themselves for testing the chairman said no course for alarm as he pointed out that the committee has taken drastic measures to fight against the virus and called on them not to panic about the disease.
