Man, 35 Year-old Arrested For Murder, Attempted Suicide In Bauchi

The Bauchi state Police Command have arrested 35 year old Kabir Tukur for hacking  man to death  and making  attempt to commit suicide in the state.

A statement issued by the state Police Command Public Relations Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi,   said the ugly incident occurred on Tuesday, 13/10/2015 at about 07,30 am in Beni village. ‎

According to him, Police detectives attached to Kirfi Division arrested Kabir Tukur male, 35 years old, from Beni Town in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi State.

He the suspect lured one Auwalu Manu, male and 11 years old son of his Junior brother into the bush and slaughtered him with a hand trowel, saying the suspect further used the same object and sliced his throat in a bid to commit suicide and became unconscious.

The PPRO said the scene of crime was visited and a blood stained hand trowel was recovered as exhibit.

Mohammed   However, said both the victim and suspect were rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi , saying  ‘the victim was certified death by a medical doctor while the suspect was admitted for medical attention”.

The police spokesman said Corpse and the photographed were released to relatives for burial according to Islamic rites after Autopsy.

DSP noted that the command have since swung into action and are currently on the case investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the act.
