Maitala Picks PDM Ticket For Bassa/Jos North Federal House Of Rep By Yakubu Busari,Jos

The Former National Financial Secretary of National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Alhaji Haruna Maitala has secured the ticket to vie for the seat of Bassa/ Jos North Federal Constituency in the forth coming 2015 general elections.
Maitala emerged as consensus candidate under the platform of Peoples’ Democratic Movement (PDM), to contest for the  House of Representatives seat, having scored 56 valid votes, as party delegates converged and affirmed his sole candidature at the Plateau State Party office in Jos.
The PDM electoral committee Chairman Hon. Aminu Baba, while declaring the candidate as returned “unopposed,” said “the election was conducted in accordance with the extent of party constitution.”
Similarly, Shehu Sulen Jebu and Patrick Azi, were affirmed and returned unopposed s candidates vie for the Jos North – North and Jos North West State Constituencies, into the State House of Assembly, having pulled 50 and 53 valid votes respectively.
The affirmation which was done under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), officials led by Barr. Apollos Yusuf as well as officers from the State Security Services (SSS).
Meanwhile Alhaji Haruna Maitala has described the recent Jos bomb blast as an act of “enemies of our existence as innocent human beings. have once again wrecked a havoc on not only those that lost lives or sustained injuries but even to all of us in the City.
“The insurgency act was not only barbaric, inhuman, and un-compassionate, but is highly and strongly condemnable in its entirety.”
Maitala prayed Allah to have mercy on the souls of those that have died, and also consoles the heart of the families that are left behind.
“I also commiserate with those who were injured and wish them speedy recovery,” he added.
He appealed to the Federal Government to do everything lawful possible to strengthen the nation’s security  intelligence,  geared at making them to discharge their duties of protecting lives of the People.
