Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bogoro local government area of Bauchi state have lamented a situation where elites of the party disregard popular wishes of the other party faithful when it comes to choosing party officials.
They appealed to Chieftains of the party to desist from tampering with the wishes and aspirations of the majority of the party members in order to foster internal party cohesion.
Speaking to our Reporter, the members complained bitterly that some elites are fun of only considering their interest to the detriment of the other party faithful.
One of the contestants, Comrade M.B Mbami said it will not augur well with the APC if the elites continue to temper with the wishes of the majority of the party members like they did during the LG Congress by using their power to choose someone that people don’t like.
He opined that only those who are based in Bogoro that know the problems of the party should have been given a free hand to choose the leadership of the party.
“This is because, if you’re not always in Bogoro how can you know the challenges”, he said.
“If care is not taken, next time there will not be a political party called All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bogoro Local Government Area again, because of the blatant interest that our outside politicians have”, Mbami explained.
On his part, Mr. Michael Ayuba Yola, said such kind of injustice is the reason why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is taking many of their members from them.
