LAOSA Condoles Plateau Govt, Families of 22 Students Kill In School Building Collapse

Langtang  Old Students’ Association has extended her heartfelt condolences, first to the families of students trapped and feared killed in the school building collapse of Saint Academy Secondary School Busa Buji in Jos, as well as sympathises with the Government and good people of Plateau State over the undeserved lost.

“I the National President Barrister Ponyak Nandang on behalf of Langtang Old Students Association Worldwide through this medium wishes to express our deepest sympathy to the immediate families of the deceased and the Plateau State Government.

“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of 22 young lives and pray for those injured in this terrible incident.

“This tragedy has deeply affected the immediate families, the school community, and the entire State.

“We stand in solidarity with you during this difficult time and share in your grief.

“We pray that the Almighty God receives and reposes the precious souls of the departed children. May He grant them eternal rest?

As a sister association, we pray for those injured, we fervently pray for their swift and complete recovery.

To the bereaved families and the Saint Academy community, we ask that God provides divine comfort and the strength to bear this immense loss, may they find solace in the memories of their loved ones and the support of the community around them.

LAOSA commends the Plateau State Government for its prompt response and the measures taken to ensure proper treatment for the injured.

However, as a matter of concern, we urged the Jos Metropolitan Development Board and the Ministry of Urban Development to expedite action in ensuring that buildings not just schools in Plateau State are erected on specifications and in tandem with international best practices.

As fellow members of the educational community in Plateau State, we stand ready to offer any support we can to help our state heal from this tragedy, as we urge our members to visit blood donation centres in Jos to offer blood for the victims of this incident as well as all of her medical professionals staying around Jos to join their counterparts to offer assistance.
