Lamido Plan To Work With Ex-Gov Turaki To Take Power From APC In Jigawa

In what appears as a move to consolidate its presence in Jigawa State, People Democratic Party ( PDP) executives and critical stakeholders have met with the former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki and promised to work together to flush out APC in the state in the forthcoming general election.

In his speech after the closed-door meeting held at Ex-Governor Turaki’s residence, the state PDP chairman Hon Babandi Gumel said, they held the meeting as part of the preparation for the party primary election.

He explained that Ex-Governor Saminu Turaki is a leader in the party and in view of that, they sat down with him to see how they can work together to liberate Jigawa state from APC’s bad governance.

” We are expecting APC to start preparing for their packing out from our state, as we will do everything possible within the democratic tenants to ensure its government did not go beyond 2023 ” Hon Gumel stated.

In his speech, the former state Governor Alhaji Saminu Turaki said,  APC leadership has drawn Jigawa state back from the path of peace and progress it was put through by his administration and his successor Alhaji Sule Lamido.

Turaki stated that the former state Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido is getting old, therefore he will join hands with Lamido Junior, ( Mustapha Sule Lamido) to go around the state and enlighten people on the need to vote out APC from the state.

He noted that PDP is the only political party that has the structure and blueprint that can help in propelling the state to prosperity.

“What we are witnessing in Jigawa state today, is an  increase of prevailing abject poverty,  social instability,  diminishing of public services and other indices that reflect bad governance “

“So by God’s grace in the next few days, I will mobilize all my political machinery including 10 representatives from each of 2,870 polling units and other PDP leaders, stakeholders, and party members to flush out this failed Governor and amateur political party”

According to the political analysts in the state, the meeting is a symbol of political reconciliation between former governor Alhaji Sule Lamido and former governor Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki to achieve common interest after years of rivalry.
