Lamido Ask Jigawa Governor-Elect To Request For The N11b Debt Owed To Jigawa By Federal Government By Umar Faruq Usman,Dutse

Governor  Sule Lamido of Jigawa state has asked the incoming government to pursue over eleven billion Naira (N11b) owed the state by that federal government.
The outgoing governor, who made the disclosure shortly after signing the 2015 budget into law, said that the outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan promised to construct an international Airport “base on the president’s promise we at the state level constructed the Airport on the agreement that the federal government will pay back the money to the state government”.
Alhaji Sule Lamido further said; “we spent N17 billion the federal government first paid N800 million and latter paid the sum of N5 billion some months back, now there is still balance of N11 billion to be paid by the Federal Government”.
According to him “now with the APC federal government and also APC in the state, the new administration should pursue and collect the Jigawa people’s  funds owned by the federal government and used it to improve the socioeconomic lives of the people of the state”.
He maintained that “we have various ongoing roads projects in many parts of the state, if to say the federal government fully paid our money we would have completed and paid the projects leaving without any liability”.
Lamido emphasis. He added that “we are hoping that the incoming administration would bring positive change, a change in improving the socioeconomic lives of the people to continue from where we stop.
Lamido revealed that had it been that the Federal government was able to settle the debt, he could have completed some of the major roads, under constructed Hospital projects.
He called on all the PDP supporters to see the incoming government as a government for all Jigawa indigents and should support her since she is going to work for collective interest of the people of the state.
