The Governor called on medical practitioners to redouble their efforts in research on how to surpass the works of great Physicians toward treatment of minor diseases.
Governor Lalong appealed to health experts to come closer to the grass root where many people are suffering from eye diseases like Cornea, Glaucoma, Cataracts and other related eye problems that lack the means to visual rehabilitation which is largely found in the urban cities.
Lalong said “government would not relent in providing the needed support that will make for the much needed success it owes its citizens”.
Speaking at the occasion, Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong said “he is optimistic that , the group would in no distance time address squarely the diseases of the eye which has hold many citizens captives”
Lalong who was represented by his Secretary to the state Government SSG , Rufus Bature said ” I see our government as partners in this project, and I assure that government will not relent in providing the needed support that will make for the much needed success”
“He gave assurances that let me further state that the rescue government has a plan to deliver quality and affordable health care to our people, through a reform that would address critical infrastructure, equipment and personnel deficit in the state.
The President of Ophthalmological Society of Nigerian (OSN) , Sebastian Nwosu, has disclosed that the association would continue to strive to Promote excellence in the Practice of Ophthalmology practice in Nigeria.
He said the association promised to provide a forum for the study and discussions of problems related to Ophthalmology and the care of the blind and the prevention of blindness in the country.
He made this disclosure yesterday in Jos in his welcome address at the Annual General Meeting Scientific Conference tagged Jos 2015.
Nwosu explained further that, “OSN would continue to extend a warm hand of fellowship to all stakeholders and the general public, in order to deliver optimal and efficient eye care to citizens of the country wherever they reside.
According to him, “We hope to use this opportunity to this year’s conference to further go some steps higher in galvanising fellow citizens elsewhere to work together to continue to advance eye care in Nigeria”.
