Lalong Inaugurates Committees On Review Of Districts Creation And Salaries Package

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has inaugurated critical committees to review the creation of chiefdoms and development areas and salaries and welfare package for traditional rulers.

Lalong disclosed this at the inauguration of the review committee for the creation of chiefdoms ,districts and village areas and the committee for review of salaries and welfare package for traditional Rulers in Plateau State in little Rayfield.

He appealed to all communities that are desirous of having any consideration In the creation of village areas, districts and upgrading of chiefdoms, to take advantage of this exercise making the necessary submission, that will guide the committee in the discharge of this onerous but people centred responsibility.

Members of the committee to review the creation of chiefdoms ,districts and village Areas in Plateau are as follows; Chairman Chief D G Fompun ,Mr Cornelius Semwan ,Dr Martin Danladi Bongkat ,Sir Daniel Wuyep ,Amb Danladi Wuyep ,Chief Jethron Akun ,secretary Local Government and chieftaincy affairs to serve as secretary

The second committee members of Salaries and welfare package of Traditional Ruler ,Chairman Nde Joshua Waklek mni ,Prof. Longmas Wapmuk,Hajiya Ladi Nimlang ,Mr Peter Magaji , Alh Dr Zakari Mohammed ,Barr. Luka Fwangyil secretary PS LG chieftaincy affairs.

Lalong explained that chiefdoms and districts creation were created in line with the subsisting Plateau state chieftaincy law No 5 of 2005.

He reiterated that the committee on the salaries and welfare package of Traditional Rulers should take cognizance in their submission on the role Traditional Rulers in the promotion of peaceful coexistence and harmonious intra and inter community relations.

Governor Lalong assured the people of Plateau that the committees will be giving free hand to do their needful and that government will be expecting to receive their report in three (3) months from inauguration.

He tasks them to bring their incorruptible character and envious record of public service to bear in the discharge in this exercise.

Responding D G Fompun said the committees thank the Governor for the assignments and   by the grace of God we shall discharge our function effectively.

He promised not let the state down in their official duty to ensure that problem of creation of districts and chiefdoms is taken seriously.
