Lalong Charges Farmers To Key Into Federal Govt Anchor Borrower’s Scheme

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has urged Plateau farmers to key into the Central Bank anchor borrower scheme of the federal government to reduce poverty and create employment to the youths and women who are ready to venture into agricultural sector.

 

Represented by the State Commissioner for information and communication ,Hon Yakubu Dati at the Plateau Agricultural  Development Projects ,PADP, Dutsa Kudu ,Jos North Local Government Area .

 

Lalong said the fertilizers, herbicides ,water pumping machines which was to be disburse to over 30,000 deploy to beneficiaries in Plateau to address the plight of farmers is gradually yielding positive result .

 

He stressed that government in partnership with the CBN under anchor borrower scheme was aimed at diversifying the country economic well-being of Nigerian were 12,000 farmers in the 3 senatorial districts of Plateau state are now enjoying rice ,potatoes and crops farming without hitches.

 

Lalong explained further that the farmers who have benefited  from anchor borrower scheme of Federal government has been perfectly executed in Plateau state as  one of President Muhammadu Buhari visit to the state had achieved tremendous success.

 

According to him, the strategic plan put in place is gradually yielding positive impact were very soon plateau state start exporting rice ,potatoes and other food beverages produce here as the Governor Simon Lalong is placing the state as commercials hub of Nigeria.

 

He disclosed that the government is working hard to develop the Heipang Airport to Cargo airport towards promoting  agriculture produce here in the state and its neighbouring states .

 

The National Coordinator of Buhari Campaign organization ,BCO, Alh Danladi Pasali said the partnership with banks to inject money into farming in Nigeria was to encourage small scale business scheme and fighting poverty in the rural areas .

 

He cautioned that farmers who are interested in going into commercial farming should take advantage of the anchor borrower scheme which is in phases to boost their farming activities .

 

Pasali noted the programs is across the 744 local government areas of Nigeria were Mr President is asking people to form association to enable them become beneficiaries funds which is ongoing right now .

He employed youths, women to participate in repositioning the future of Nigeria with this agricultural revolution in addressing unemployment, increase food production.

Then, the secretary ,Mr Dauda Aku says the farmers stand to benefit a lot from the federal government were the project is not asking farmers to pay in cash but to do so through their farm produce.

He gave the run down as 30%,30% and 40% and they only 9% interest paying with what you have cultivated in your farm produce, stressing those who have benefited are those that applies for 0.5 or 1 hectare of land .
