The Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has reiterated that his administration commitment towards developing plateau in accordance with its master plan.
Governor Lalong mentioned this when he declared open the 2018 planning week and 30th Dinner anniversary organized by the Nigerian Institute of town planners Plateau State Chapter held at the Joshua Dariye Hall of the Plateau State Polytechnic Jos.
The 2018 planning week is celebrated under the theme the state of urban and regional planning on the Plateau, represented by the State Commissioner for Urban And Physical Planning Bolus Bot, the Governor described members of the profession as the most effective planners saying their activities have captured all the 5 pillar policy of the rescue administration.
According to Lalong the issue of developing Plateau is so dear to him and hence he is ready to do anything possible to transform the state, he called on the members of the town planning profession to ensure they adhere strictly to the tenets of their profession.
Chairman of the occasion and chairman Shendam Local Government Council Alex Miskoom Nantuam, in a remark, said the importance of planning cannot be overemphasized when viewed in the eyes of rising challenges of slums and improper implementation of town planning and Ethics on the state.
This he attributed to the relegation of town planners in planning, on his part commissioner lands survey and town planning Festus Fuanter said the major problem of town planning is the rising wave of slums in the city center which he blamed on the activities of defaulting citizens.
