Kwande Beef Up Security Ahead Of Sunday Match Between 3AC Of Ibadan And Plateau United

The Chairman of Plateau State Football Association, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has disclosed that security had been beef up ahead of Sunday match between the home best team, Plateau United and 3AC of Ibadan by calling on the supporters to behave themselves during and after the match.

Speaking during the Stakeholders meeting with the supporters at his office,Rwang Pam Stadium on Wednesday, Suleiman Yahaya Kwande emphasized the need for the fans to conduct themselves in an orderly and coordinated manner.

He condemned that some of the supporters of the rival team are making things so difficult to control the crowd coming to watch live matches as their behavior is tantamount to creating problem for the team.

Kwande warned supporters coming to foment trouble to at Zaria stadium to stop that act because nobody will hold him to ransom, the Plateau State Football is bigger than any individuals.

However, the meeting resolved to streamline the number of Journalists coming for coverage as admonished SWAN members to reduce their members to 20 slot with tag for easy identification and they should pass through the down tunnel for all the supporters including the media .

According to him, the media should come up through the tunnel 10 minutes to the end of the match for interview to avoid unnecessary distraction inside the field.

We want to control fans and maxima space inside the stadium to avoid breakdown of law and order, everything is going on smoothly and we thank God that the state government had taken proactive measure towards curbing the menace of violence by supporters.

He noted that the Sunday match is a most win for Plateau United Football to avoid relegation so that the team should be promoted to next division .

Kwande stated that the President of Nigeria Football Association, Ibrahim Musa Gusau has done credibly well as a group we are hoping that the team will win African cup of nation due to the caliber of players we have.

Meanwhile, Chief Security Officer of Plateau United Football ,Hon.David itumu Yakubu the convener of the meeting commended Suleiman Yahaya Kwande for his pragmatic leadership quality of promoting togetherness within the clubs.

He promised to communicate with the appropriate leadership of the various union to ensure safety of players and the dignitaries coming to watch the live matches.

Yakubu disclosed that the joint taskforce is to sensitize and keep surveillance of irate youths within the stadium in partnership with security personnel.

He explained further that the aimed of this stakeholders meeting was to ensure that referees, players, coaches and match officials all leave the field before the supporters to avoid clashes.

David Yakubu commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang administration for funding the team as he give them overwhelming support among the clubs in Northern Nigeria.

He assured all football lovers coming to watch live match between 3AC and Plateau United of tightening up security network to prevent repeated violence and stampede.
