Kogi First Lady, Rashida Bello Bags Excellence Award In Texas

Her Excellency Mrs Rashida Bello, Wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi State has reiterated her commitment to improving the lot of women, children and the vulnerable in the State.

Mrs. Rashida Bello who was singled out from Nigeria for an Award of Excellence as a way of recognizing her contributions to the society through numerous empowerment programs which have impacted on the lives of the people of Kogi State, made the statement at the 2017 International Women Conference in Dallas, Texas, during the award ceremony.

Receiving the award on behalf of Her Excellency Mrs. Rashida Bello was the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Mrs. Bolanle Amupitan who urged women who are economically capable in Africa and Nigeria to endeavor to lift other women around them by empowering them.

She added also that Mrs. Rashida Bello will not relent on her commitment to ensuring that her pet project Kogi Women and Youth Advancement Foundation (KOWYAF) waxes stronger in reaching out to the people, especially at the grassroots as her own way of bringing the dividend of democracy to their door steps.

According to her, by its mission to provide quality health care and empower women and youth in Kogi State, KOWYAF will play its roles in supporting the administration of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello to make that remarkable difference in Kogi State and beyond as a way of driving the New Direction Agenda forward.
