Killings In Nasarawa Must Not Happen Again Nasarawa PDP Tells Gov-Almakura

The Nasarawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ) wish to condemn in totality  and    expressed dismay over the renewed violence clash across the state most especially, the south and Northern senatorial axis  of the state
It is alarming that ever since All Progressives Congress ( APC ) led administration came on board Nasarawa State has never remain the same.
It is unfortunate that the state is once again in bloodletting ethnic cleansing which is a culmination of  the mal-administration of Governor Umaru Tanko Al – Makura.
The non-challant attitude shown by the governor and his inability to make any public statement condemning the crisis or visit the affected areas indicates that he lack capacity and experience to steer the leadership of the state,
The act should be condemned by all and sundry, while we urge the people to sheath their sword as PDP is working round the clock to ensure peace returns to our dear beloved state.
Sheathing the sword and uniting together as a people will create the enabling environment for understanding and sober reflection.
We wish to draw the attention of the affected communities that no amount of violence will heal the briefed and return the losses.
Such actions will rather aggravate matters and worsen situation, by sowing the seed of discord and hatred among the generations yet unborn.
No amount of violence, hatred and continued reprisal attacks would bring the necessary solution or desired happiness for any injured community but rather dialogue.
Those involved should see reason and stop the wanton killings and embrace peace as the only panacea to meaningful progress and development.
Security agencies on their part should wake up to their responsibilities by ensuring peace returns to the affected communities.
In so doing, those involved in causing violence and destruction of lives and properties most be brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.
Government on its own part should be proactive and create the enabling environment for security agencies to perform their responsibilities.
No meaningful development strives on violence but rather on peace and unity which enhances growth and peaceful coexistence.
We want to call on government to arrest the situation before it gets out of hand by rising up to the challenge and stop hiding under political influence of external forces and forgetting the home front.
The laxity already created in handling the crisis most be avoided and ensure the situation do not repeat itself.  ! It Must Not Happen Again.
Signed
Chief Yunana Iliya
