The paramount ruler of Shabu, The headquarter of Lafia North, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Bwallah has postponed the confirmation of traditional title to the Secretary of Doma Local Government, Comrade Isa Ibrahim Usman yesterday over the news of the abductor of Madakin Shabu, Alhaji Musa Shuaibu by unknown Gunmen.
The official confirmation of the Secretary of Doma Local Government with the traditional title of Ubangarin Shabu at the Palace of Sangarin Shabu at precisely 10:00 am was postponed by the authority of the palace following the news of the missing Madakin Shabu.
Eyewitnesss said the Madakin Shabu observed his I”shai prayer with his abductors numbering five to six of them in a mosque close to his abode, He further said the kidnappers had firearms forced to whisk him into a waiting vehicle and zoomed off with terrifying gunshot on air.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the abduction of the community leader who was held in the Lafia Local Government Area of the State.
In a telephone interview, The State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramhan Nansel said Alhaji Shuaibu was abducted on his way home at about 8:15 pm on Thursday shortly after observing the evening prayer.
DSP Ramhan Nansel explained that the kidnappers numbering about five, observed the evening prayer with the victim and followed him on his way home and while he was about to cross the road, they accosted him and started shooting sporadically in the air before taking him away to an unknown destination.
The Police Spokesperson stated that security operatives had launched a search and rescue operation in the surrounding bush to ensure that the victim was rescued by his abductors.
