Kanam LGA Chairmanship Race : APC Aspirant Solomon Yabilsu Unveils Security Top Agenda

Yakubu Busari

An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Chairmanship  election in Kanam Local Government Council of Plateau State , Mr Solomon Daura Yabilsu , has unveiled his eight points    agenda on how to make life better for the people of the Kanam if eventually given the mandate.

Yabilsu who spoke with this medium  on Monday in Jos  lamented that the bar has fallen in virtually all facets of life ranging from security, education, health to human capacity development, poverty ,unemployment  and stressed the need to reverse the trend.

He  said if he  scales through the hurdles of the primaries to emerge as the party’s candidate for the election, he  would eventually win and contribute his  experience and commitment to re-enacting the glory days of the council

Solomon Tabular disclosed that  his administration would retool the various sectors and give top priority to empowerment of women, youth, education, security, infrastructure, health, agriculture, sports, art, culture and tourism.

“I shall describe my plan and effort as ‘all inclusive no religion bigotry, tribal dominant .’ We have no need for grandiose projects that cost too much to start, too much to complete and even much more to maintain. Put in one word, such projects/programmes are unsustainable.

“I will be running for the nomination of my party for election to the office of Governor and President  . This is a solemn quest for me. My government will design and implement a robust  peace building policy  and revamp sports and cultural calendar with the objective of re-building our unity and oneness in Kanam LGA . My style is collaborative and consensus building,” he  added .

Yabilsu stressed that the security in Kanam LGA is getting worse on a daily basis and the growing population of unemployment, with problems of water scarcity ravaging the rural populace is worrisome  and our people are predominantly farmers without accessible road network for them sell their farm produce.

He stated that the rural farmers cannot afford to buy fertilizer even after selling their crops because of high in price. Under my leadership if given the mandate, we shall introduce vocational training and skill acquisition .

According to him, if scale from the primary, the regime would harp on accountability, transparency of resources from the allocation also establish forum for interactive session with all religious beliefs and tribal affiliation.

He promised justice for all the sons and daughters of the council because 50 years Kanam is still underdeveloped without modern facilities to transform lives.

Solomon urges the people to support his aspiration to rebuild new council by ensuring that our roads are connected to National grid .
