JUSUN Leadership Holds Nasarawa Chief Judge Hostage, Persist On Total Shutdown

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria National leadership has held the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Suleiman Dikko hostage despite the tight security mounted at the High court along Shendam road Lafia.

As at the time of filing this report, members of the National Executive Council of JUSUN locked up the gate of the office preventing entry and exit of staff of the Union while the protesters are chanting the songs of “Chief Judge is a thief ” “Return our money illegally deducted from your office.

Jimoh Musa, the State Chairman of JUSUN in an interview with selected Journalists says the Union would embark on continued strike action that would last for a week.

He said 18 States has convened in the State to protest the illegal deduction of staff salary, adding that the deduction started since 2016.

Other demands of JUSUN also include the illegal conversion of staff by the head of the court to fix their cronies.

“Apart from the illegal deduction, we are owed 5 years arrears, though we had a discussion with the Commissioner of Police and we agreed that Government would address the issues within one week and is now three weeks, he added.

While fielding questions on the decision of C.J over the dismissed 20 staff he said the National leadership is over the situation.

He called on members of the Union to be peaceful and hold on their demands.

It would be recalled that the Union embarked on strike in November 2018 demanding for their right.
