At a brief ceremony held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Prof. Hafiz urged the acting Chief Judge to ensure that the state judiciary performs optimally by ensuring speedy dispensation of justice, pointing out that “justice delayed is justice denied”.
According to the acting governor, the process of delivery of justice should be fast, cheap and affordable to the common man, so that it can be delivered to deserving persons as and when due.
“My lord, you are coming in to head the judiciary is at a time of a depressed economy, therefore, to manage any system under depressed economy, you need to prioritize. So, you have to prioritize and be patient,” the acting governor advised.
Prof. Hafiz assured that present administration under governorship of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje would give the judiciary all necessary support to the acting Chief Judge to lead the state judiciary to greater to heights, hoping that the Judiciary would do same to the executive arm.
The acting governor, who described the appointment of Justice Nuraddeen as based on knowledge and experience, congratulated him and prayed that his tenure would be successful.
Born in 1958 in Kano city, Justice Nuraddeen obtained graduate and postgraduate degrees from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has held various positions within Kano state judiciary since 1982.
The new Acting Chief Judge was also a lecturer at Bayero University from 1988-1991 and was appointed High Court Judge in 1991. He is married with two wives and seven children.
